As a regional bank, HYPO-BANK BURGENLAND Aktiengesellschaft provides classical universal banking services to private and commercial customers in Austria. Since 2006, Bank Burgenland has been a part of the GRAWE Group, headed by one of Austria’s largest insurers with deep capital resources. With the integration of Capital Bank in 2008 we were able to expand our existing product range, in particular in the fields of private banking, investment banking and asset management. The acquisition of a majority share in Bankhaus Schelhammer & Schattera AG by Bank Burgenland grew the GRAWE banking group by a further institution. Bankhaus Schelhammer & Schattera is Vienna’s oldest private bank and is a pioneer in ethical and sustainable investments. In September 2021 Bankhaus Schelhammer & Schattera and Capital Bank merged with each other to become Austria's strongest private bank.

With 13 branches – ten in Burgenland, two in Vienna and one in Graz – Bank Burgenland achieves the desired geographical presence in the regional market.

The new business division Capital Markets, created in 2019, is the interest factory of the GRAWE banking group and acts as an interface for Fixed Income products between issuers and investors, supported by a strong international customer network. The professional team develops capital market products tailored to specific needs, accompanies sub-benchmark issues and offers its customers personal care and access to electronic trading in secondary markets.
